Agency Village, SD—February 16, 2011—Three students from Sisseton Wahpeton College have been invited to present the results of their research project on Thursday, February 24 to legislators and other dignitaries in the Pierre in the Capitol Rotunda.
The three Sisseton Wahpeton College students, Steve Farmer, Destinee Eastman, Brendon Barker, worked with Dave German, Mary O’Neil, and Boris Shmagin, researchers from South Dakota State University, to explore the hypothesis that satellite imagery could be used as a tool to evaluate water quality in lakes on the Lake Traverse Reservation.
The Student Research Poster Session is in its fifteenth year and is an opportunity for undergraduate students statewide to showcase their research. . In addition, research collaborations between various state institutions, industry and federal agencies are displayed with undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral and faculty researchers available to answer questions and meet with legislators, media and visitors to the capitol building.
